A local couple with over ten years experience as business owners have brought Mr Rental, the leaders in white goods rentals, to Tamworth.
Jack and Karen Newell returned to Tamworth from Brisbane, where they had been living to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Mr and Mrs Newell were the owners of a Civic Video store in Tamworth for eight years, before selling it to take on the new challenge in the form of a Cartridge World franchise, which they ran for two years until their move to Brisbane.
“We owned a newsagency business in Brisbane, but really enjoyed being part of a franchise group and were keen to buy another franchise with a successful franchisor and enthusiastic network of franchisees," Mr Newell said.
What commenced for the Newells was a lot of research into the different options available to them at the time, but they decided to go ahead with the opportunity to join the Mr Rental network.
“Not only were we impressed with the systems and framework, but we did not meet one Mr Rental franchisee who had an adverse comment. In fact, many of the franchisees own more than one store, so that was saying something to us!"
Mr Newell said that owning a Mr Rental store in Tamworth, at 509 Peel Street, would present an exciting new challenge for the couple and their part-time mobile rep, as well as a service that would be in demand for the local community.
“Renting is an attractive option for families looking to maximise their cashflow by not having to purchase big ticket items outright, while ensuring they’re not denying their family’s basic needs," Mr Newell said.
Indeed, the service offered by Mr Rental franchises across Australia has grown in demand among local families, due to a trend of renting rather than buying white goods and appliances, particularly in the current economy.
“We supply fridges, TV’s, washers, dryers, televisions, sound systems, game consoles and even furniture within 24 hours and look after any repairs or issues with any of the appliances," he said.
Mr and Mrs Newell’s solid plans for the future include growing their team, and providing superior customer service to local Tamworth residents.
