Mr Rental Auckland Central Achieves Top Franchise Awards

October 16, 2009

Mr Rental Auckland Central’s franchisees, Andrew and Jan McLaren, have just been awarded the top Mr Rental franchise “Above the Line" title, as well as the Mr Rental Community Involvement Award.

Mr and Mrs McLaren accepted the awards at the Mr Rental Annual Franchise Conference in Melbourne, Australia, over the weekend.

The McLarens, along with their team, were triumphant among 18 Mr Rental stores throughout New Zealand.

Finalists for the Above the Line Award are acknowledged for their ability to always live above the line in their professional dealings and attitude; that is with ownership, accountability and responsibility. Living above the line and following the organisation’s 12 points of culture are an intrinsic part of the network’s values systems.

The Mr Rental Auckland Central store has maintained a strong presence in the local community, having recently donated three televisions complete with DVD’s and trolleys to the Te Papapa School; a 29" TV, DVD player and cabinet on wheels to the Onehunga Community Centre specifically for the after school programme;  a TV and VCR to the Ponsonby Community Centre, and a microwave to the Blockhouse Bay plunket rooms.

Mr Rental General Manager, Alan Payne, congratulated the team of six on achieving the prestigious awards. “Jan’s extraordinary commitment to supporting worthy causes was recently demonstrated when she shaved her head on the Cancer Society’s Daffodil Day. She was overwhelmed to have raised $3447.50," he said.

Mr and Mrs McLaren said their most important priority in business is providing exceptional customer service every time.

“We treat all our customers as though they are our number one client and have fostered a loyalty that has helped us grow our business to where it is today," Mrs McLaren said.

Indeed, the service offered by Mr Rental franchises across New Zealand has grown in demand among local families, due to a trend of renting rather than buying white goods and appliances, particularly in the current economy.

“Renting is an attractive option for families looking to maximise their cashflow by not having to purchase big ticket items outright, while ensuring they’re not denying their family’s basic needs," Mrs McLaren said.

“We supply fridges, TV’s, washers, dryers, televisions, sound systems, game consoles and even furniture and fitness equipment within 24 hours and look after any repairs or issues with any of the appliances," she said
