On the “official" Daffodil Day date, Friday 28 August, the Mr Rental franchises across Australia volunteered at one of the 1,200 Daffodil Day stalls, helping sell merchandise including daffodils, bears, pens and pins to raise money for a worthwhile cause.
The Mr Rental franchise as a whole raised over $9,000 at this year’s Daffodil Day, providing hope for a cancer free future.
Established as an Australia-wide event in 1992, Daffodil Day has become the largest fundraising event of its kind in the southern hemisphere. Cancer Council now raises around $8 million each Daffodil Day, providing vital funds for research, education and support services. This is the 8th year in a row Mr Rental, as a network, has supported this cause.
According to General Manager, Alan Payne, the franchise as a whole raised over $75K in the last 18 months for the Cancer Council through annual conferences, training and cancer council events.
“We as a franchise are incredibly mindful about supporting the community and being able to give something back to families in need," Mr Payne said.
According to Mr Payne, the daffodil is the international symbol of hope for all touched by cancer, and the Mr Rental network is looking forward to assisting the Cancer Council to raise over $9 million to fund the cancer control initiatives, patient support and education services of Cancer Council's eight state and territory member organisations.
Mr Rental is in its nature and operation an organisation that is intent on providing the very best service and support to assist with the day to day needs of Australians.
“Our franchisees supply fridges, TV’s, washers, dryers, televisions, sound systems, game consoles and even furniture and exercise equipment within 24 hours and look after any repairs or issues with any of the appliances."
Renting is an attractive option for families looking to maximise their cashflow by not having to purchase big ticket items outright, while ensuring they’re not denying their family’s basic needs."
