Mr Rental Ballarat/Bendigo Announced Finalist In Franchise Council Australia Awards

August 24, 2009

Mr Rental Ballarat and Mr Rental Bendigo were announced finalists in the Franchise Council Australia (FCA) 2009 Awards Multi-Unit Franchisee category.

Franchisee Garnet Dean opened Mr Rental Ballarat in 2003 and the Bendigo store last year, building a team of six employees across both stores.

Finalists for the FCA Awards were judged across many different categories, including their business performance, leadership, involvement within both the franchise group and local community, among many others.

According to Mr Rental General Manager, Alan Payne, Mr Dean is successful in business across numerous areas.

“The Ballarat and Bendigo stores are highly regarded among the Mr Rental national network, and Garnet has been a Victorian Mr Rental Franchise Advisory Council (MRFAC) Representative for three years, part of the International Marketing Committee, as well as an inaugural member of the Mr Rental V-Team which is an exclusive team of elite franchisees who have been recognised for their outstanding performance and commitment to the system and their peers," he said.

Mr Payne commended Mr Dean’s social responsibility and involvement in the local community, which ranges from his service on the board of C-Ballarat (a peak body for the development of Information and communication Technology (ICT) industry and initiatives within the Ballarat region) from 2000 to 2007, filling the role of deputy–chair person in 2007, to donations, sponsorship and involvement with the Red Cross, and Cancer Council.

Providing exceptional customer service every time is something Mr Dean and his team are passionate about, and is a non-negotiable in the business.

“Our primary success is derived by treating all our customers equally and with honesty and respect. We treat all our customers as though they are our number one client and have fostered a loyalty that has helped us grow our business to where it is today," Mr Dean said.

Indeed, the service offered by Mr Rental franchises across Australia has grown in demand among local families, due to a trend of renting rather than buying white goods and appliances, particularly in the current economy.

“Renting is an attractive option for families looking to maximise their cashflow by not having to purchase big ticket items outright, while ensuring they’re not denying their family’s basic needs," Mr Dean said.

“We supply fridges, TV’s, washers, dryers, televisions, sound systems, game consoles and even furniture and fitness equipment within 24 hours and look after any repairs or issues with any of the appliances," he said.
