As the rental agreement is an indefinite period rental you have no right or obligation to purchase the goods.
You can make an offer to purchase the goods at the end of any payment period. Mr Rental can either accept or reject your offer.
If you wish to make an offer based on the age of the goods and how long you have rented for, then call us.
If there will be insufficient funds available on payment day, call us the day before your direct debit is due to be taken to make alternative payment arrangements.
This will save you a $10 dishonour fee from us and your bank will also charge you a dishonour fee, often $30 - $40. It pays to plan ahead!
Because your rental agreement is an indefinite period rental you can terminate the agreement at any time.
If you exercise your right to terminate the rental agreement prior to the end of the calculation period you return the goods to Mr Rental and must pay the Rental Adjustment.
The Rental Adjustment is the difference between the rent you have paid which is based on your nominated calculation period and the rent Mr Rental would have calculated for the actual period the goods were hired.
You will also have to pay the end of agreement costs if you nominate a calculation period greater than 12 months but exercise your right to terminate the agreement before the end of 12 months after the delivery date.
Once we’ve collected your rental products we check:
- they are in the same condition as when rented
- that your payments are up to date
We will then refund your deposit into your bank account. The entire process normally takes just 5 working days.
We do like all rentals to be clean and we understand you will have been using them up to the last minute so they may not be spotless.
If your home and contents policy covers rental items, then you will be covered. If not, Mr Rental can offer you Liability Waiver.
- Fire - You must advise Mr Rental within 24 hours of fire so we can complete our own evaluation
- Theft - Must be substantiated with a Police report with forced entry verified
- Damaged caused by mistreatment of the goods
- Removing any covers from the goods
- Liquid damage to the goods
- The goodst being dropped
If you leave the house unsecured with goods inside you are responsible for the replacement of lost, damaged or stolen goods – unless otherwise covered by insurance or our liability waiver fee.
You will be in breach and default of your terms if you do not pay all rent and other amounts on time and if you attempt to or sell, hire or dispose of the goods.
Just call us in plenty of time so we can change your payment details before your next payment is due. If your payment is processed and there are insufficient funds the bank will charge you a dishonour fee which could be $30 or more.
You don’t need to do anything. Your direct debit will be taken out on the banking day before the public holiday. Just make sure you leave enough money in the account to cover it.

From 1 July 2010, any new agreement for the rental of all goods from Mr Rental operates under an indefinite period rental.
For all rental agreements in place prior to 1 July 2010, there is no change to your arrangements.
A rental where there is no term. You rent for an indefinite period (as little or as long as you like) until you or Mr Rental terminate the rental agreement.
Mr Rental calculates the rental for individual goods based upon the length of time you indicate that you want to hire the goods. We call it the calculation period.
The rental so calculated is paid per payment period (weekly, fortnightly or monthly) for as long as you rent the goods.
If you nominate a calculation period for an indefinite period rental agreement for greater than 12 months but exercise your right to terminate the agreement before the end of 12 months after the delivery date of the goods then you must return the goods to Mr Rental and you will be required to pay:
- All payments then due and owing;
- An amount equal to the aggregate costs reasonably estimated or incurred by Mr Rental, in relation to the delivery, collection, administration and bank fees for establishment of the direct debit and cleaning together with any other losses or damages suffered by Mr Rental directly arising from your termination of the rental agreement. If the rental agreement ends after the first anniversary of the delivery date then this amount is zero; and
- Any late payment fees and enforcement expenses owing as at the date of termination
